Post Human Folk Dances is a dance record for the nomadic cultures of the future. My first solo album, it was recorded remote by Joel Gardella during a 2 week period in Long Beach Washington. Each track on the album began as an improvisation, recorded by the ocean, in a mountain clearing, on a plain, and many were overdubbed with additional percussion, voice, and samples. Four different imagined styles of dance are explored, each focusing on a different body part: cervical spiral, quadruped dance, lumbar lean and pelvic pivot.
